John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit through his songs of pop-folk, many of which were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell New Mexico. He discovered love for Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for people to travel to Colorado. I can't think of anyone else who represents Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the Colorado image. When you encounter people from different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they ask them "I am from Colorado" then they immediately react by saying Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working within small Folk Music groups. The track was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it using Johnny Cash's songs in mind, but Denver was aware from the very first time he heard early versions that the song could be a huge hit. The track was released just a few weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
